Abstract
This paper will firstly focus on a historical view of Arts and Theatre Education in Portugal and the relevant aspects of the development of drama in education in the last 30 years, since the April Revolution, across all the levels of education, since the pre-schooll until the teacher training in University.
Secondly, it will give you an account of the presence of theatre Education from 12 to 16 in the formal curriculum - secondary education in Portuguese schools, which developed through an investigation project in the field of theatrical studies.
