Tungstosilicic acid (SiW) immobilized in silica with different amount has got high catalytic activity for the acetalisation of glycerol with butanal. The SiW2-S catalysts showed the highest catalytic activity. All catalysts showed high values of selectivity to five-member ring acetal (about 80-83%). PW2-S showed good catalytic stability. After the forth use, it was observed that the catalytic activity decreased about 6 % of its initial value.por
