Gênese e desenvolvimento urbano de Oliveira de Azeméis

Abstract

Observa-se um crescimento na malha urbana das cidades, devendo-se este a um conjunto de vários fatores, em que talvez, a industria e a "máquina" sejam os de maior relevância, "uma vida ritmada...da velocidade de produção e no transporte das pessoas e das coisas. Com o seu aparecimento, as grandes cidades explodem ou se congestionam.as cidades crescem sem forma" (Corbusier, 2000:9). Surge a necessidade de clarificar e reorganizar espaços que proporcionem uma melhor qualidade de vida. Oliveira de Azeméis ao longo da sua história, foi um pólo importante entre o trajeto Porto - Lisboa, pela Estrada Nacional N.1 que atravessa a cidade, tornando-se num centro de comércio local e regional entre os pólos desenvolvidos a Norte-Sul e Interior- Exterior do território. Apesar da sua identidade e história bem enraizadas no Centro Histórico, Oliveira de Azemeis sofre com o despovoamento deste importante núcleo que esta na sua génese. É necessário reabilitar o Centro Histórico com o objetivo de o revitalizar atraindo e fixando pessoas devolvendo-lhe a importância regional que já teve; ABSTRAT: Genesis and Urban Development of Oliveira de Azeméis.

In the course of his history, Oliveira de Azeméis was a important pole between the route Porto - Lisboa, through his connection by the National Road NQl that crosses the city, becoming a local and regional comercial center between the developed poles of North - South and Interior - Exterior of the Territory. Even though his identity and history are well rooted in the Historic Center, Oliveira de Azeméis, suffers with the depopulation of this important core that is on his genesis. It's necessary to rehabilitate the Historic Center with the goal of revitalizing it, attracting and fixing people giving back the regional significance that it once had.
