Abstract
The Fragile X syndrome, although not very frequent, is the most common inherited cause of mental retardation and is very often associated with autism spectrum disorders.
In this presentation will be presented the most frequent motor, speech and social characteristics of the development of children with this syndrome.
The importance of a diagnosis is associated with the possibility of early intervention. Will be analyzed how different studies have identified the main contributions of early intervention services for the child, the family and the context.
The search for specific characteristics of the work with this syndrome will be made from the presentation of a case followed by a EI team.
