Abstract

The Estremoz anticline may probably be one of the geological structures in Portugal that has always captured human attention as a wealth and regional development source. Local marbles are famous all over the world for its quality, singularity and colour variety. The Geo-Mining Routes intend to enhance the territory, with marble as the starting point, the base that supplied it’s identity, by means of promoting industrial tourism, in association with the territory monumentality, sports, culture and gastronomy present in Sousel, Estremoz, Borba, Vila Viçosa and Alandroal municipalities.
