Baú da memória: coleção Pereira & Próstes (1886-1888) e coleção Lopes Fragoso (1868-1930) do Arquivo Fotográfico da Câmara Municipal de Évora (1839-1930)

Abstract

No presente Relatório de Estágio, a arte fotográfica foi objeto de estudo tendo como base uma metodologia que identifica os principais atores da produção fotográfica em Portugal e as suas ligações com outros fotógrafos. Assim, foi elaborada uma proposta de valorização patrimonial de duas coleções fotográficas – LFR (1868 – 1930) e PEP (1886 – 1888) -, cujo conteúdo visual nos permite preservar uma memória coletiva e identitária. O AF-CME enquanto lugar de memória cultural é um espaço para concretizar o projeto de valorização das coleções fotográficas nunca antes estudadas a nível patrimonial e histórico. A coleção LFR permite explorar a fotografia de retrato e a coleção PEP permite identificar os monumentos da cidade de Évora. Duas coleções que pertencem ao baú da memória do AF-CME e que abrem caminhos a novas investigações acerca do património documental fotográfico, tendo como balizas cronológicas, a divulgação oficial do primeiro processo fotográfico (1839) e a última fotografia da coleção LFR (1930); Abstract: Memory ark: Collection Pereira & Próstes [1886 - 1888] and Collection Lopes Fragoso [1868 - 1930] of the Photographic Archive of the Municipality of Évora (1839 - 1930) In the present Internship Report, the photographic art was a study object through a methodology that identifies the key actors of the photographic production in Portugal and its links with other photographers. This allowed conducting a heritage valuation proposal of two photographic collections - LFR (1868 - 1930) and PEP (1886-1888) - whose visual content allows one to preserve a collective memory and identity. The AF-CME, as a cultural memory space, it allows the valuation project of photographic collections which until now have never been studied before at the heritage and historical level. The LFR collection allows one to explore the portrait photographytype while the PEP collection assists in the identification of Évora’s monuments. These are two collections that belong to the AF-CME memory ark and open new perspectives to further investigations on photographic documentary heritage. The chronological boundaries are the official publication of the first photographic process (1839) and the last shot of LFR collection (1930).
