Abstract

O presente relatório pretende descrever as atividades desenvolvidas no âmbito do estágio curricular do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Veterinária da Universidade de Évora. Este trabalho divide-se em duas partes nas quais, a primeira apresenta a casuística acompanhada durante os três estágios curriculares nas diversas áreas da clínica geral de equinos, descrevendo alguns casos de forma mais especifica e explicando sempre que relevante as diferentes abordagens realizadas em cada estágio. A segunda parte apresenta uma revisão bibliográfica sobre desmites dos ramos do ligamento suspensor do boleto, apresentando a patologia, as técnicas de diagnóstico mais frequentemente preconizadas, bem como várias opções de tratamento descrevendo as suas vantagens e desvantagens. Para terminar discutem-se dois casos clínicos acompanhados que apresentavam a patologia descrita, descrevendo a sua abordagem, diagnóstico, tratamento e resultado final; Equine clinics and surgery Abstract: The present report pretends to describe the activities developed in the curricular internship of the Integrated Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine of the University of Évora. This work is divided in two parts in which the first will described the caseload of the three curricular internships done in the vast areas of general equine practice, describing a few cases more specifically and explaining when relevant the different approaches done in each internship. The second part will have a bibliographic review on the topic of branch desmitis of the suspensory ligament, it will be presented the pathology, the more frequently diagnostic approaches and the multiple options of treatment describing the advantages and disadvantages of each one. At last will be presented two cases of branch desmitis of the suspensory ligament followed during the internships describing the initial approach, the diagnosis, the treatment and the outcome.
