Atividades veterinárias municipais na área animal

Abstract

Este relatório foi realizado no âmbito do estágio curricular no Canil Municipal de Cascais. A primeira componente trata da casuística acompanhada no estágio. As principais áreas acompanhadas foram as reclamações sanitárias relativas à detenção de animais e as atividades desenvolvidas no Centro de Recolha Oficial. Estas atividades incluem o acompanhamento de tratamentos médicos e cirúrgicos dos animais alojados, assim como cumprimento do Programa Nacional de Luta e Vigilância Epidemiológica da Raiva Animal e Outras Zoonoses. A segunda componente consiste no estudo do número de canídeos errantes no concelho de Cascais. Consideraram-se como canídeos errantes todos os que foram encontrados na via pública sem qualquer supervisão do ser humano. Cascais possui uma estimativa populacional de 252 canídeos errantes, sendo que existem aproximadamente 2,59 por cada km2; Abstract: Municipal Veterinary Activities in the Animal Area The present report was written within the scope of the Curricular Internship at the Cascais Municipal Dog Kennel. The first component accounts for the casuistry of the internship. The main fields of involvement were the claims about the sanitary conditions under which the animals are kept and the work done around the Animal Rescue Center. These include the medical and surgical treatments provided to the animals, as well as the compliance with the National Progamme of Control and Fight Rabies and Other Zoonosis. The second component consists in the study of the number of roaming dogs in Cascais. This designation was attributed to all of those that were found in public territory, without any kind of human supervision. Cascais has a population estimate of 252 roaming canid, being approximately 2,59 for each square kilometer.
