Indoor suspended particulate matter in office rooms: an experimental study in Évora (Portugal).

Abstract

Aerosol number concentration and size distribution of particles smaller than 20 μm was measured in five office rooms in the University of Évora, Portugal. The work was focused on two aspects: the indoor-to-outdoor exchange relationship of aerosol particles in naturally ventilated rooms and aerosol characterization in rooms without air exchanging with outdoors. Regarding the last aspect, we analyzed the daily variation of aerosol particle concentration at different location within the room and studied the effect of indoor activities such as the effect of smoking activity.
