Clínica médica e cirúrgica em ruminantes

Abstract

O presente relatório reflete a aquisição de conhecimentos teóricos e competências práticas durante os sete meses de estágio curricular do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Veterinária. O primeiro momento de estágio ocorreu em regime ambulatório em explorações pecuárias situadas na Península de Setúbal e teve por base a clínica médica/cirúrgica, reprodução e saneamento em bovinos. O segundo período ocorreu em regime hospitalar em Zaragoza e incidiu sobre a medicina e anatomia patológica em pequenos ruminantes. A primeira parte do relatório pretende caracterizar os dois períodos de estágio em termos de procedimentos e especialidades médico-cirúrgicas com que foi possível contactar e inclui breves revisões de algumas problemáticas e tratamentos observados em contexto clínico. A segunda parte é composta por uma monografia subordinada ao tema “Caracterização Macroscópica de Lesões em Doenças Pulmonares de Pequenos Ruminantes”, com o objetivo de demonstrar o contributo da necropsia para o diagnóstico das doenças pulmonares destas espécies; Abstract: Ruminant Medicine and Surgery The present report reflects the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills during the seven months of curricular internship of the Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine. The first period of internship took place in ambulatory regimen in livestock farms located in the Península of Setúbal and was based on medicine, surgery, reproduction, and prophylaxis in cattle. The second period took place in a hospital in Zaragoza and focused on medicine and pathological anatomy in small ruminants. The first part of the report aims to characterize the two periods of internship regarding the procedures and medical/surgical specialties with which it was possible to contact and includes brief reviews of some clinical challenges and treatments observed. The second part consists of a monography on the subject "macroscopic characterization of lesions in pulmonary disease of small ruminants", aiming to demonstrate the contribution of necropsy for establishing the diagnosis in pulmonary diseases of these species.
