Salvaguardar para conhecer- Proposta de criação duma reserva arqueológica, em Évora

Abstract

Sendo um dos objetivos da Arqueologia Municipal a salvaguarda do património arqueológico, este projeto pretendeu criar as bases para a constituição da futura Reserva Arqueológica do concelho de Évora. Assentou na necessidade de se conhecerem os materiais armazenados no atual depósito arqueológico, provenientes das inúmeras intervenções que ocorreram ao longo de mais de 25 anos, intra e extramuros, fazendo, ao mesmo tempo, a ponte com os seus responsáveis científicos. Em última análise, este trabalho permite obter um conhecimento mais aprofundado da realidade arqueológica concelhia, resultado da inventariação dos materiais. Para além disso, possibilitou a criação de condições para que a comunidade científica e académica aceda a este enorme manancial de informação e, através da sua análise, produza informação útil para a sociedade em geral; ABSTRACT: Being the safeguard of the archaeological heritage one of the primary objectives of the Municipal Archaeology, this project intended to create the foundations for the constitution of the Archaeological Reservation of Evora´s municipality. It was based on the necessity to gather information regarding the stored materials in the current archaeological deposit, from the numerous interventions that occurred over 25 years, inside and outside of the city walls, providing, at the same time, the bridge with it´s scientific directors. This work allows a more deep understanding of the archaeological reality of Evora´s territory, result of the inventory of the several materials. On the other hand, it aims managed to provide the conditions for the access, by the scientific and academic community, to this information’s, from which it will be possible the production of studies that benefit the general population.
