Levantamento florístico do Parque Nacional Vale do Catimbau: uma abordagem etnobotânica

Abstract

Este levantamento contribuiu para um melhor conhecimento da flora presente no PNVC, assim como dos principais usos de cada planta; - ABSTRACT: Floristic survey of the Vale Catimbau National Park: an ethnobotanical approach In this work, interviews were collected with knowledge holders representing communities within and on the periphery of the PNVC. 74 species belonging to 34 botanical families were identified, of which 84% are native species and 36% endemic. The higher endemism rate than reported in the literature highlights the biological potential of PNVC. The botanical families that presented the largest number of species were Euphorbiaceae, Cactaceae and Fabaceae with around 47% of the total number of species identified. The Cactaceae family exhibited the largest number of species endemic to the caatinga (8). The use classes that presented the largest number of species were medicinal (64) and melliferous plants (47), representing 84% and 62%, respectively, of the total number of plants, highlighting the enormous phytotherapeutic potential of this biome. This survey contributed to a better understanding of the flora present in the PNVC, as well as the main uses of each plant.
