AN ONTOLOGY-BASED TOOLKIT TO SUPPORT THE SUSTAINABILITY ASSESSMENT OF OLIVE GROVES ACROSS THE MEDITERRANEAN BASIN

Abstract

In the framework of the PRIMA funded project SUSTAINOLIVE, the main agroecological concepts of relevance to identify and characterize Sustainable Technological Solutions for olive growing sector were firstly identified and described based on literature search and expertise of partners. The agroecological concepts are compiled in a database format for easy consultation, with a definition which includes references to official websites and scientific literature. The agroecological concepts in the database are then linked to categories, resulting in the connection of each term to one or more of the Sustainable Technological Solutions. The main product is a database open for public consultation which includes links to external websites, connections with slides and graphical representations to facilitate the transfer of key agroecological concepts to diverse types of end-users.
