Abstract

A arte da ciência ou a ciência da arte – proposta para divulgação on-line de estudo material de obras de Baltazar Gomes Figueira e Josefa de Ayalla As investigações de cariz científico aplicadas a objetos museológicos são cada vez mais abundantes em ambiente académico. No entanto, a divulgação dos resultados obtidos neste tipo de investigação, junto do público, é ainda uma prática pouco corrente. O estágio aqui apresentado realizou-se no Laboratório HERCULES, da Universidade de Évora. Teve por objetivo elaborar uma proposta para a divulgação de um estudo de caracterização material, elaborado pelo mesmo laboratório: as pinturas atribuídas a Baltazar Gomes Figueira e Josefa de Ayalla, pertencentes à coleção do Museu de Évora. Esta proposta pretende, em última instância, partilhar com o público as potencialidades da investigação no campo artístico e patrimonial, através do exemplo mencionado e, deste modo, difundir o conhecimento mais atual sobre o conjunto em questão. Procurou-se de uma forma mais geral, contribuir para o incremento da função socioeducativa no museu, característica fundamental deliberada nos estatutos do International Council of Museums (ICOM). ### Abstract: The art of science or the science of art – proposal for on-line dissemination of a material case-study of paintings by Baltazar Gomes Figueira and Josefa de Ayalla. Scientific researches, applied to museum objects, are increasing in the academic environment. However, disclosure of the results obtained to the museum’s public, in this kind of research, is still an incipient practice. The internship presented by this paper, was carried out at the Hercules Laboratory, University of Évora. This internship aimed to develop a proposal for the disclosure of a material characterization case-study elaborated by the same laboratory: the paitings attributed to Baltazar Gomes Figueira and Josefa de Ayalla, from the collection of the Museum of Évora. This proposal intends to share with the public the potential of research in arts and heritage, through the example mentioned and thus disseminate the current knowledge about those paintings. In a general approach, we aim to contribute to the development of socio-educative function at the museum, fundamental characteristic deliberate in the statutes of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
