O património arqueológico do concelho de Viana do Alentejo - estado do conhecimento

Abstract

O presente trabalho centra-se em redor de uma recolha de informação acerca do património arqueológico no Concelho de Viana do Alentejo. A intenção aqui é de começar a preencher uma grande lacuna no conhecimento do nosso território nacional. A maioria das realidades registadas são, de uma forma ou outra, já conhecidas, seja por fontes bibliográficas, tradição oral ou dispersas notícias recolhidas no âmbito deste e outros trabalhos. No entanto, no decorrer da investigação alguns vestígios até então inéditos foram identificados e registados. Aqui apresenta-se uma sistematização de toda esta informação numa base de dados juntamente com o respectivo registo fotográfico. O corpo do trabalho apresenta uma análise dos diversos sítios e evidências, a metodologia que foi usada e um apanhado do estado actual do conhecimento anterior à realização desta recolha; ABSTRACT: The Archaeological Heritage of the Municipality of Viana do Alentejo, the state of its knowledge. This work focuses around the collection of information about the archaeological heritage in the municipality of Viana do Alentejo. The intention here is to begin to close a major gap in the knowledge of our national territory. Most of the recorded places are already known, in one form or another, either by literary sources, oral tradition or scattered reports collected for this and other works. However, during the investigation previously unknown materials were identified and recorded. Here we present a systematization of all this information in a database along with the corresponding photographic record. The body of this paper presents an analysis of the various sites and evidence, the methodology that was used and an overview of the current state of knowledge prior to the compilation of this information.
