Preface

Abstract

This volume on Globalization and EU Trade Policy at the Time of Crises: Governance and Sustainability Challenges, edited by Annette Bongardt and Francisco Torres, is a milestone on EU trade policy and globalization studies. It features eleven very rich and diverse chapters and excels at bridging economics, political economy, political science, international relations and international law. The book follows up on the successful publication in December 2022 of a Special Issue of Perspectivas – Journal of Political Science on “New Globalization Challenges and EU Trade Policy”. We would like to thank Annette Bongardt and Francisco Torres, guest editors of that special issue, for having taken up the most timely challenge to approach such a relevant topic at this time. Doing so they provided a very relevant (and abnegated) academic service to Perspectivas and the Research Center in Political Science (CICP), hosted at the University of Minho and the University of Évora, and to the academic community in general.
