Abstract
Research on learning in higher education established association between the way students learn and their perception about the contexts in which this learning takes place. Given the relevance of this component to the quality of learning in higher education the aim of this study is to identify the factorial structure of the CEQ – Course Experience Questionnaire (Ramsden, 2006) validating it for the Portuguese student population.
The sample was 872 students of the Social Sciences and Science and Technology courses. The overall adequacy of the model to the relational structure developed was made using the Confirmatory Factor Analysis.
The main finding indicates that the model fits the Portuguese student population although with some differences also found in cross-cultural studies carried out recently.
