Dueto do Desassossego: A crise do sujeito contemporâneo nos romances de José Saramago e Chico Buarque

Abstract

Esta pesquisa propõe-se a fazer uma análise comparativa de seis romances de José Saramago com outros seis de Chico Buarque, de forma a interpretar de que maneira eles expressam o sentimento de desassossego característico da subjetivida de contemporânea. “Vivo Desassossegado, Escrevo para Desassossegar” são palavras do Prêmio Nobel que orientam os dois eixos dessa investigação: “Leituras da Subjetividade Contemporânea nos Romances de José Saramago e de Chico Buarque” e “Manifestações do Desassossego nos Romances de José Saramago e Chico Buarque”. O primeiro trata da fragmentação do sujeito, das relações entre o sujeito e o espaço urbano e dos impasses entre sujeito e sociedade globalizada. O segundo eixo volta-se para a linguagem em si, discutindo em que sentido os romances se constituem como “romances do desassossego”, que visam também desassossegar o leitor, o cidadão e o próprio autor, influenciando-se todos mutuamente. Esperamos revelar como os romances selecionados expressam o sentimento que caracteriza tanto o sujeito como o nosso tempo: o desassossego: - ABSTRACT A Disquiet Duo: The Crisis of the Contemporary Self in José Saramago´s and Chico Buarque´s Novels - This research proposes to make a comparative analysis of six novels by José Saramago with another six by Chico Buarque, in order to interpret how they express the feeling of restlessness characteristic of contemporary subjectivity. “I live uneasy, I write to be uneasy” are words from the Nobel Prize that guide the two axes of this investigation:“Readings of Contemporary Subjectivity in the Novels of José Saramago and Chico Buarque” and “Manifestations of Disquiet in the Novels of José Saramago and Chico Buarque”.The first deals with the fragmentation of the subject, the relations between the subject and urban space and the impasses between the subject and globalized society. The second axis focuses on language itself, discussing in what sense novels constitute themselves as “novels of unrest”, which also aim to unrest the reader, the citizen and the author himself, influencing each other.We expectto reveal how the selected novels express the feeling that characterizes both the subject and our time: restlessness.
