A gestão do regime terapêutico, por pessoa com doença mental no domicílio, na perspectiva do cuidador principal

Abstract

Este relatório foi desenvolvido, tendo por base um diagnóstico de situação relativo à Gestão do Regime Terapêutico, realizado numa Unidade de Internamento de Psiquiatria. O diagnóstico tinha como objectivos: - Conhecer a perspectiva do cuidador principal, relativamente à forma como o seu familiar com doença mental faz a gestão do regime terapêutico no domicílio; -Contribuir para a definição de estratégias direccionadas aos utentes e cuidadores principais, para a melhoria da Gestão do Regime Terapêutico. Foram entrevistados sete cuidadores principais, na Unidade de Internamento onde os seus familiares estavam internados, sendo possível inferir da informação obtida, que os mesmos não gerem o seu regime terapêutico de forma adequada. Emerge daqui a necessidade de implementar estratégias direccionadas, quer aos cuidadores principais quer aos seus familiares doentes. As estratégias a ser implementadas, deverão ser psicoterapêuticas e psicoeducativas, com o objectivo de fornecerem ferramentas e autonomia, diminuindo assim o impacto negativo da doença na qualidade de vida do doente e do seu cuidador; ABSTRACT: This report was developed having for base a diagnosis of the situation in relation to the management of the therapeutic regime, which took place in a unit of psychiatric internment. The diagnosis had the following objectives:  To know the perspective of the main caregiver in relation to the way their mentally ill family member manages the therapeutic regimen at home.  To contribute to the definition of strategies directed at patients and their main caregivers for the improvement of the management of the therapeutic regime. Seven main caregivers were interviewed in the internment unit where their family members were interned. From the information obtained in the interviews it is possible to infer that these family members don’t manage their therapeutic regime adequately, making it necessary to implement strategies directed at the main caregivers and their mentally ill family members. The strategies to be implemented should be psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational in order to provide the right tools and the autonomy needed and, therefore, reduce the negative impact of the illness in the lives of the patient and caregiver.
