Voluntariado nos grandes eventos desportivos: perceção da motivação de voluntários internacionais no campeonato mundial de basquetebol

Abstract

O presente texto pretende perceber as motivações dos voluntários internacionais após a participação num grande evento desportivo, neste caso, no Campeonato Mundial de Basquetebol 2014 em Espanha. Estes voluntários, oriundos de vários países europeus, estiveram durante cerca de um mês num país estrangeiro (ou cidade no caso dos de nacionalidade espanhola) realizando trabalhos de diversos temas e especificidades no âmbito do evento. Elaborou-se um questionário para recolher dados sobre essas motivações. Trataram-se os dados dos quais se salientam as seguintes conclusões: o enriquecimento social e as experiências de vida positivas sobressaem como expoente máximo na participação do voluntário; Volunteering in Major Sport Events: Perception of Motivation in International Volunteers at the Basketball World Cup Abstract: The following text has the purpose to understand the motivations of international volunteers after their participation in a major sport event, as in this case, the World Cup Basketball 2014 in Spain. These volunteers from several European countries have been in a foreign country (or city, if the volunteer is from spanish nationality) during almost a month, conducting works from diverse and specific themes. A questionnaire was made in order to gather information about those motivations. The conclusions, as maximum exponent for the volunteer participation, point to the social enrichment and positive life experiences.
