Abstract

During the restrictions imposed by Covid-19, dance and movement both acquired a relevant role in experimenting with new physical approaches to the city's public spaces. The progressive de-escalations and the newly imposed normalities delimited how we should move choreographically in the city’s public spaces. In July 2021, within the framework of the research project "Fragments and Links: Creative body memory in the time of Covid-19", funded by OSIC (Generalitat de Catalunya) (CLT019/20/000154), we implemented a pilot laboratory in the context of summer activities for young people in the Raval neighbourhood (Barcelona) that allowed us to experiment and renew, through participated processes, emotional links between the body, the urban place and its communities. Starting from a theoretical and methodological framework, we implement a pedagogical method of movement improvisation, physical theatre techniques and site-specific dance.
