Activated carbons are high surface area materials, exhibiting good stability, good mechanical resistance and high porosity. Due to these properties, they are widely used in heterogeneous catalysis as catalysts and catalyst supports. It was observed, that the treatment with fuming sulfuric acid improves the catalytic performance of the carbon catalyst. All the oxidised carbon catalysts exhibit good selectivity to a-terpineol.por
