Abstract

Vasco and collaborators proposed a 7 phase model describing the strategic objectives therapists use along the psychotherapeutic process. This model should be valid for all types of psychotherapy. In this paper this claim will be tested in a case of short-term individual psychotherapy. The author will describe the development of this case and subsequently will analyze the terapeutic process in terms of the existence of the phases predicted by this model. An attempt will be made to identify what might have been markers for transitions from one phase to another and changes in theoretical approach.
