Clinica de espécies pecuárias

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio foi elaborado no âmbito do Estágio Curricular do Mestrado Integrado em Medicina Veterinária, da Universidade de Évora. O estágio realizou-se desde o dia 8 de setembro de 2024 a 10 de janeiro de 2025, na Multivet - serviços veterinários de equinos e espécies pecuárias, sediada na cidade de Évora. A primeira parte relata as atividades desenvolvidas no âmbito da Medicina Preventiva, clínica médica e cirúrgica e controlo reprodutivo, nas diferentes espécies pecuárias. A segunda parte do relatório desenvolve uma monografia sob o tema “Língua Azul serotipo 3 em ovinos”, incluindo a descrição dos casos clínicos acompanhados durante a realização do estágio curricular. Esta é uma doença viral que afeta ruminantes domésticos e selvagens, sendo os ovinos a espécie mais suscetível. O aparecimento deste novo serotipo em Portugal, exigiu uma nova forma de encarar esta doença, com diferentes medidas e ações médicas e profiláticas implementadas; - Abstract: Livestock species clinic This internship report was prepared within the scope of the curricular internship of the Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine of the University of Évora. The internship took place from September 8, 2024 to January 10, 2025, at Multivet - veterinary services for equines and livestock species, based in the city of Évora. The first part reports on the activities carried out within the scope of prophylaxis, medical and surgical clinics and reproductive control, in different livestock species. The second part of the report develops a monograph under the theme “Bluetongue serotype 3 in sheep”, including a description of the clinical cases followed during the curricular internship. This is a viral disease that affects domestic and wild ruminants, with sheep being the most susceptible species. The appearance of a new serotype in Portugal required a new way of looking at this disease, with different medical and prophylactic measures and actions implemented.
