Uma viagem pelas reais fábricas: Um exemplo de património industrial português

Abstract

Esta dissertação aborda o tema das Reais Fábricas Portuguesas enquanto potenciais estruturas integrantes do Património Industrial. O Património Industrial é um tema relativamente recente que incide sobre a sociedade industrial podendo recuar no tempo sempre que tal se justifique. Existe um conjunto de manufacturas portuguesas dos séculos antecedentes,as pré/proto-indústrias, que antecederam a sociedade industrial tal como a conhecemos hoje. Pretende-se contextualizar, identificar, localizar e analisar um conjunto de 22 manufacturas do século XVII – XVIII – as Reais Fábricas de Portugal. Estas manufacturas foram as primeiras estruturas industriais do país e a sua implantação estratégica definiu o desenvolvimento urbano português. O seu registo é fundamental para o conhecimento e consequente salvaguarda, classificação ou intervenção. A partir da viagem, um processo de (re)conhecimento arquitectónico, é realizado o levantamento fotográfico do estado actual das antigas Reais Fábricas, religando-as através de uma linha que atravessa todo o território; ABSTRACT: This study approaches the Real Portuguese Factories theme as potential structures integrating the Industrial Heritage. The Industrial Heritage is a relatively recent theme that focuses on the industrial society and can go back in time whenever this is justified. There is a set of Portuguese manufactures from the previous centuries, the pre / proto-industries, which preceded the industrial society as we know it today. It is intended to contextualize, identify, locate and analyze a set of 22 manufactures from the seventeenth century - XVIII - the Royal Factories of Portugal. These manufactures were the first industrial structures of the country and its strategic implantation defined the Portuguese urban development. Its documentation is fundamental for the knowledge and consequent safeguard, classification or intervention. Through the travel, a process of architectural knowledge, is carried out the photographic survey of the current state of the old Royal Factories, reconnecting them through a invisible line that crosses the whole territory.
