Redes de Cooperação entre Bibliotecas Públicas e Escolares do Litoral Alentejano

Abstract

Este trabalho de pesquisa baseia-se num estudo sobre as características das relações existentes entre as bibliotecas escolares e públicas da Região do Litoral Alentejano. Baseado numa metodologia qualitativa, o presente estudo teve como objectivo a percepção e compreensão dos aspectos que facilitam ou condicionam directa ou indirectamente a cooperação entre estes estabelecimentos. Deste modo foi possível entender as relações que as bibliotecas escolares estabelecem entre si e outras entidades, nomeadamente no que concerne à proximidade e articulação que estabelecem com as bibliotecas municipais, ou se pelo contrário apenas celebram relações pontuais. No fundo, procurámos perceber como isso se reflecte nas instituições e nas próprias relações estabelecidas entre as pessoas destas entidades. Foi realizado um conjunto de entrevistas semi-estruturadas a 15 coordenadores das bibliotecas escolares e a 4 responsáveis das bibliotecas municipais da Região do Litoral Alentejano, que permitiram compreender o funcionamento das bibliotecas municipais e escolares da área geográfica definida e o seu papel na cooperação e desenvolvimento destes estabelecimentos. ; Cooperation Network between Public Libraries and School from Litoral Alentejano ### Abstract This research is based on a study about the relationships between public and school libraries from the Alentejo Coast Region. Based on qualitative methodology, the aim of the research was to try to perceive and understand the aspects that may act directly or indirectly, that facilitates or constrains cooperation between these institutions. Thus we try to understand the nature of the relations between school libraries, the proximity and connections they establish with the public libraries, or whether it just happen once in a while, to perceive in what way this is reflected in institutions and relationships between these entities’ staff. It was performed a set of semi-structured interviews to 15 school libraries coordinators and four municipal libraries administrators of the Alentejo Coast Region. In essence we tried to understand their perspectives about public and school libraries of the defined geographic area and what is their role in cooperation and development of these institutions.
