Abstract

Já quem sente falta de motivação intrínseca, geralmente percebe o ambiente de trabalho como menos satisfatório; - Decent Work and Work Motivation in the Military Abstract: This study analyzes the professional profile of military personnel at the Center for Applied Psychology in the Army (CPAE) and their perceptions of the relationship between decent work and work motivation. The main objectives were to describe and characterize these perceptions, as well as to analyze the relationship between the dimensions of decent work and work motivation. The study involved the participation of 27 military personnel, and data were collected using two instruments: the Decent Work Questionnaire (DWQ) and the Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS). The results showed that the fulfilling work dimension of the DWQ, as well as the identified regulation and intrinsic motivation dimensions of the MWMS, presented higher mean values. In contrast, the social protection (DWQ) and amotivation (MWMS) dimensions presented the lowest mean values. Person's correlation analysis showed that more self-determined types of work motivation, such as intrinsic motivation and identified regulation, are positively associated with the perception of decent work. Conversely, higher levels of amotivation are negatively related to these perceptions, indicating that a lack of motivation is associated with less satisfactory working conditions. In practice, the results demonstrate that military personnel feel more motivated when they perceive their work as meaningful and valued. It was also observed that those with greater internal motivation (such as personal interest in the role or identification with the profession's values) tend to view their work as more dignified. Those who lack intrinsic motivation generally perceive the work environment as less satisfying.
