MEDIÇÕES DA VISIBILIDADE ATMOSFÉRICA COM CÂMARA FOTOGRÁFICA DIGITAL

Abstract

Atmospheric visibility and meteorological optical range were derived with a low-cost digital consumer camera. Comparison between the visibility obtained by a human observer and the visibility derived by digital images taken with the camera show good agreement in the green part of the spectrum, except in early morning and late afternoon. Examples for clear and polluted days are given.
