O Morgadio como modelo de organização agrícola e da paisagem do Algarve

Abstract

A presente dissertação encontra-se fundamentada no estudo da Propriedade Rural do Morgadio na Região Algarve, bem como na análise e identificação dos elementos arquitectónicos e singulares que faziam parte destes territórios, e que constituem parte da identidade da região. O caso de estudo é o Morgadio no Concelho de Portimão, apoiando-se numa análise detalhada dos principais elementos que compõem esta unidade de Paisagem onde se insere a grande propriedade rural. O objectivo deste estudo é reconhecer, de que forma a grande propriedade agrícola do Morgadio, contribuiu para a transformação da Paisagem rural no Algarve, nomeadamente do Barrocal, assim como identificar e entender como alguns dos elementos arquitectónicos ligados à produção que compunham esta Paisagem, podem futuramente ser novamente integrados no contexto actual, em que o turismo é o grande factor de transformação; ABSTRACT: The present master investigation is centred on the rural property of Morgadio in Algarve region, as well as in the analysis and identification of the architectural elements, most of them unique, which belonged to that territory, contributing to the identity of the region. The case study is the Morgado from the Portimão Municipality, and the investigation has as support a detailed analysis of the main elements that compose and unify the Landscape where the property is inserted. The aim of this study is to recognize how this agricultural property contributed to the transformation of the Algarve Landscape, specially the Barrocal, as well as identify and understand how some of the architectural elements connected to the agricultural production, composed this Landscape, and be used in the future, inserted in the actual context, where the tourism is the major transformation cause.
