O iberismo numa revista do primeiro modernismo português: Contemporânea (1922-1926)

Abstract

Contemporânea, revista literária portuguesa que surge em 1922, dirigida pelo arquiteto e dinamizador cultural José Pacheco, distingue-se pelo seu ecletismo, ao albergar alguns dos mais importantes autores associados ao projeto de rutura de Orpheu, bem como os representantes das correntes estéticas de tradição, mas sobretudo por ser a primeira a manifestar uma clara vocação iberista no âmbito dos órgãos inscritos no primeiro modernismo português. É em tomo destas duas linhas de análise que desenvolveremos a presente tese, debruçando-nos, primeiramente, sobre as diferentes conceções e adeptos do iberismo, bem como sobre a dinâmica politica e intelectual da Península Ibérica no pós-guerra. Já no terreno das páginas da publicação, focaremos o seu programa e “espírito” e percorreremos as suas colaborações, assinadas por autores portugueses e espanhóis, dando particular atenção aos textos que defendem uma comunhão cultural entre Portugal, Espanha e a América de raiz ibérica. /ABSTRACT - Contemporânea, the Portuguese aliterar magazine publisher in 1922, derrete boy José Pacheco, na architect anda cultural ativista, set the diference boy Boeing eclética, Wen ti gathered some of the mosto importante autor lince to the break-of Orpheu project, alonga hit the representatives of the traditional aesthetic movements, but mainly because it was the first to present a clear Iberian vocation among the publications of the first Portuguese Modernism. This thesis is developed according to these two analysis axis, first reflecting over the different Iberianism concepts and followers, as well as the political and intellectual dynamics present in the Iberian Peninsula in the period after World War I. Considering the printed texts, we will focus on their program and spirit and we will go through the cooperation of Portuguese and Spanish authors, specially those texts which defend a cultural communion involving Portugal, Spain and Latin America.
