Perceção de risco no One-night Stand: um estudo com adultos emergentes

Abstract

O presente trabalho teve como objetivos estudar o envolvimento dos(as) estudantes universitários(as) em sexo ocasional (one-night stand) compreendendo a relação entre esta e as variáveis perceção de risco, riscos físicos, emocionais e psicológicos associados ao sexo ocasional e os fatores de influência associados ao envolvimento no mesmo. Neste estudo participaram 203 estudantes universitários, do 1º ciclo, pertencentes à Universidade de Évora, com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 25 anos (adultos emergentes). Os resultados obtidos sugerem que existe uma correlação significativa entre o envolvimento em sexo ocasional e a ausência de perceção de risco, porém existindo diferenças relativamente à mesma no momento do envolvimento em sexo ocasional e na fase posterior a este, revelando que antes e durante do comportamento os(as) estudantes universitários(as) não parecem percecionar os riscos reais, sendo que, em alguns casos, não utilizam estratégias para reduzir os mesmos. Esta perceção tardia dos possíveis riscos corridos, muitas vezes influenciada pelo consumo de bebidas alcoólicas, deveria levar a um grande nível de arrependimento, mas os resultados obtidos apontam para um nível pouco significativo. Sendo que o arrependimento é apontado na literatura como uma das consequências após um one-night stand e, muitas vezes, é o mesmo que leva os(as) estudantes universitários(as) a não voltar a incorrer neste comportamento é de extrema importância perceber que impacto terão todos estes fatores no desenvolvimento dos adultos emergentes e no self de cada indivíduo. Estes resultados revelam-se importantes e deveriam ser levados em conta em futuras investigações, particularmente na intervenção com alunos universitários; ABSTRACT: Risk Perception in the One-night Stand – a study with emerging adults The present paperwork aimed to study the involvement of the college students in occasional sex (one-night stand), trying to understand the relation between this variable and other variables like risk perception, physical, emotional and psychological risks associated to the occasional sex and the influence factors related in the same. In this study participated two hundred college students, from the degree level, belonging to University of Évora, with ages between 18 and 25 years (emerging adults). The obtained results suggest that exists a significant correlation between the involvement in the occasional sex and the absence of the risk perception, however exists differences related to the same in the moment of the involvement in the occasional sex and in the later stage after it, revealed that before and during the behavior, the students do not seem to perceiving the real risks, so that, in some cases, they don’t use strategies to reduce them. This late perception of the possible risks involved, most of the times influenced by the alcohol consumption, should take the students, although the obtained results point for a really negligible level. Being the regret pointed in literature as one of the consequences after a one-night stand and, most of the times, it is what takes college students to not return to incur this behavior it is extremely important understand the impact of all these factors will have on the development of the emerging adults and in the self of each individual. These results prove to be important and should be taken into account in further investigations, especially in the intervention with college students.
