Património votivo de matriz popular do Museu do Senhor Jesus da Piedade (Elvas) - Relatório de estágio

Abstract

O Santuário do Senhor Jesus da Piedade em Elvas, local de romaria e peregrinação do Alto Alentejo, detém um admirável espólio de ex-votos em diversos suportes (c.de 7000), datáveis a partir do século XVIII, espólio ainda não inventariado, apesar de algumas tentativas já realizadas. Os ex-votos pintados em suporte de madeira e tela, por serem dos ex-votos em pior estado de conservação no espólio do Museu do Santuário (além dos de metal), são os que foram alvo do nosso trabalho de estágio. É necessário pois, como contributo inicial para a sua conservação, salvaguarda e divulgação, o seu estudo e inventariação, por forma a entender que mensagens nos podem transmitir estas manifestações devocionais dos séculos XVIII a XX. Fica também aberto o caminho, com o presente Relatório, para a inventariação dos restantes ex-votos existentes no Santuário; ABSTRACT: The Sanctuary of the Senhor Jesus da Piedade in Elvas, place of pilgrimage and pilgrimage of the Alto Alentejo, has an admirable collection of ex-votes in various supports (c.de 7000), dating from the eighteenth century, not yet inventoried, estate despite some attempts already made.The former votes painted on wood and canvas, as they are the worst vows in the Sanctuary Museum (besides the metal ones), are the ones that were the target of our internship work. It is therefore necessary, as an initial contribution to its conservation, safeguard and dissemination, its study and inventory, in order to understand which messages can convey to us these devotional manifestations of eighteenth to twentieth centuries. The way is also opened, with the present Report, for the inventory of the remaining former vows in the Sanctuary.
