O feminino libertador e transformador nos contos de fadas de Angela Carter: uma contribuição artística através da ilustração da obra " The Bloody Chamber"

Abstract

A pesquisa intitulada “O feminino libertador e transformador nos contos de fadas de Angela Carter: uma contribuição artística através da ilustração da obra «The Bloody Chamber»” assenta num processo de investigação artística teórico-prática que busca contribuir para o estudo da importância dos contos de fadas na sociedade, destacando a representação de personagens femininas irreverentes por meio da ilustração. A questão central desta investigação é pesquisar de que modo o feminino libertador e transformador nos contos de fadas modernos e feministas pode ser representado através da ilustração, tendo como estudo de caso o livro “O Quarto dos Horrores”, 1979, de Angela Carter. O conceito operativo “Gótico Feminino” (female gothic) cunhado pela escritora Ellen Moers em 1976, é fundamental para a nossa investigação. Esta pesquisa recorre a uma metodologia assente nas artes visuais e nas humanidades por via da criação de projetos artísticos e o resultado desta toma a forma de um conjunto de ilustrações baseadas no livro “O Quarto dos Horrores. Estas ilustrações integram diversos materiais e expressões artísticas como o desenho, a colagem e a fotomontagem; Abstract: “The liberating and transforming feminine in Angela Carter's fairy tales: an artistic contribution through the illustration of the work «The Bloody Chamber»” - The research entitled "The liberating and transforming feminine in Angela Carter's fairy tales: an artistic contribution through the illustration of the work “The Bloody Chamber” is based on a process of theoretical and practical artistic research that seeks to contribute to the study of the importance of fairy tales in society, highlighting the representation of irreverent female characters through illustration. The central question of this research is to investigate how the liberating and transformative feminine in modern and feminist fairy tales can be represented through illustration, taking Angela Carter's book “The Bloody Chamber”, 1979, as a case study. The operative concept of “female gothic” coined by the writer Ellen Moers, 1976, is fundamental to our research. This research uses a methodology based on the visual arts and the humanities through the creation of artistic projects, the result of which takes the form of a set of illustrations based on the book “The Bloody Chamber”. These illustrations integrate various materials and artistic expressions such as drawing, collage and photomontage.
