Linguagem, tradução e tradição: a recepção de Heidegger em português

Abstract

Devido à persistência do latim como língua das comunicações científicas e filosóficas e, em seguida, da hegemonia cultural francesa, foi apenas no século XX que começaram a ser traduzidos para português os autores mais importantes da tradição filosófica. A primeira consequência desta longa ausência de traduções portuguesas de filosofia foi a interrupção da transmissão da tradição filosófica, designadamente dos textos latinos dos pensadores da escolástica peninsular. No entanto, tal não impediu que esta tradição humanista esquecida se misturasse de forma ecléctica com a filosofia moderna importada em língua francesa, e que sua influência se mantivesse presente na cultura e na língua portuguesas. Investigou-se o modo como esta situação hermenêutica determinou a recepção de Heidegger, analisando os escritos de várias gerações de pensadores que comentaram e traduziram em língua portuguesa o filósofo alemão entre 1938 e 1989, tendo podido reconhecer a influência daquela tradição humanista na elaboração dos principais pontos de vista interpretativos; ### Abstract: Language, Translation and Tradition. Heidegger’s reception in Portuguese Due to Latin‟s persistence as the language used in scientific and philosophical communications, and also to the cultural French hegemony, it was only in the twentieth century that the works of the main authors of philosophical tradition were translated into Portuguese. The first consequence of this long absence of Portuguese translations of philosophical texts was a disruption in the transmission of philosophical tradition, namely in the transmission of the Latin texts of the second scholasticism. However this has not prevented the blending of this humanist tradition with the modern philosophy, translated into French, and that this influence has remained in Portuguese culture and language. We have studied some writings of several generations of thinkers who have commented and translated the texts of the German philosopher between 1938 and 1989 into the Portuguese language, to find out how this “hermeneutic situation” had conducted Heidegger„s reception. We have been able to find the influence of that humanist tradition in giving rise to the main hermeneutic points of view.
