A importância das tipologias de hipertensos no comportamento de prescrição dos médicos de medicina geral e familiar em Portugal

Abstract

Este estudo teve como finalidade investigar a importância das tipologias de utentes com Hipertensão Arterial na aproximação terapêutica dos médicos de Medicina Geral e Família: em Portugal Continental. Pretendeu-se investigar que: A prescrição do médico é alterada em função das tipologias do utente hipertenso (tipo de doenças, idade, sexo, raça, rendimento, nível de escolaridade. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza exploratória, que na primeira fase é de carácter qualitativo, tendo sido desenvolvidas entrevistas realizadas a médicos de Medicina Geral e Familiar com um ficheiro de utentes hipertensos em vários Centros de Saúde da Região da Grande Lisboa. Seguiu-se uma fase quantitativa, com base num inquérito por questionário, depois de ser selecionada uma amostra aleatória de dois mil cento e setenta e oitenta (2180) médicos de Medicina Geral e Familial’ em Portugal Continental. A presente investigação confirma a importância das tipologias no comportamento de prescrição dos médicos de Medicina Geral e Familiar no tratamento da HTA em Portugal Continental. /ABSTRACT - The main form of this study investigates the importance of typologies of patients with Arterial Hypertension about the therapeuthic decision of medical prescription in the General and Familiar Medicine in Portugal Continental. It was intended to investigate two different hypotheses relationed with the medical prescription: (1) The regime of medical prescription modifies in function of the typologies of the hypertensive patient (type of illnesses, age, sex), (2) These patient typologies define the existence of a inter and intra therapeutic medical classes. One is about a study of qualitative and quantitative nature which was developed in some Centers of Health of the Region of the Great Lisbon, through interviews carried through doctors of General and Familiar Medicine with a filing-cabinet of hypertensive patients. This present research confirms the importance of the patient typologies in the prescription behaviour of the General and Familiar doctors in the treatment of the Arterial Hypertension in Continental Portugal.
