Consequências ambientais da instalação de empreendimentos turísticos nas imediações da Lagoa de Óbidos

Abstract

O estudo incide na análise das consequências ambientais da instalação de empreendimentos turísticos num trecho litoral situado entre a Praia d’El Rey e a Lagoa de Óbidos, zona da Região Oeste onde a atividade turística está em expansão. A metodologia aplicada permitiu avaliar a evolução do uso do solo entre 1990 e 2012 e identificar os impactes ambientais decorrentes da instalação de cinco empreendimentos turísticos. Os resultados obtidos sugerem que a área de estudo sofreu uma modificação do uso do solo, registando-se um acréscimo de 31% de áreas artificiais e uma redução de 26% de áreas florestais, meios naturais e semi-naturais. Os principais impactes negativos identificados manifestam-se na alteração do padrão de ocupação do solo e da paisagem, e no aumento dos consumos de água para abastecimento e rega dos empreendimentos. Estes impactes podem ser minimizados através de Sensibilização e Responsabilidade Ambiental e da implementação das Declarações de Impacte Ambiental; ABSTRACT: The study focuses on the analysis of environmental consequences of installing tourist ventures situated between Praia d'El Rey and Óbidos Lagoon, on the Western Region area, where tourism is booming. The applied methodology allowed to evaluate the evolution of land use between 1990 and 2012 and the identification of environmental impacts arising from the installation of five tourism ventures. The obtained results suggest that the study area has suffered changes in land use, registrant an increase of 31% of artificial areas and a 26% reduction of forest areas, resourses natural and semi-natural. The main negative impacts identified are manifested in the change of the pattern of land use and landscape, and increasing water consumption for irrigation and supply of the project. These impacts can be minimized through awareness and environmental responsibility and implementation of Environmental Impact Statements.
