O papel dos Serviços Sociais de Ação Social da Universidade de Évora na integração dos estudantes estrangeiros alojados em residência universitária

Abstract

Este é um trabalho de projeto baseado num estudo de caso, que tem como finalidade refletir sobre o papel dos Serviços de Ação Social da Universidade de Évora na integração dos estudantes estrangeiros alojados em residência universitária. Realça a importância de se conhecer o modo como é que estes estudantes vivem no contexto diário das residências universitárias, num momento em que o apelo à internacionalização do ensino superior é uma constante. Foram utilizadas diferentes técnicas de recolha de dados, nomeadamente pesquisa bibliográfica, a pesquisa documental e a aplicação de inquérito por questionário a estes estudantes estrangeiros. Com esta investigação identificaram-se os seus principais atributos e analisaram-se as representações sociais destes estudantes, quanto à sua integração social e vivência no alojamento universitário. Foi ainda possível contribuir para a definição de estratégias de melhoria de permanência destes estudantes nas residências universitárias, a implementar pelos Serviços de Ação Social; THE ROLE OF THE SOCIAL ACTION SERVICES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ÉVORA IN THE INTEGRATION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS ACCOMMODATED IN UNIVERSITY RESIDENCE ABSTRACT: This is a project work based on a case study, whose purpose is to reflect on the role of the Social Services of the University of Évora in the integration of foreign students housed in the university residences. It highlights the importance of knowing how these students live in the University residences context, at a time when the appeal to the internationalization of the Higher Education is a constant. Different data collection techniques were used such as: bibliographic research, documentary research and the application of a questionnaire survey to these foreign students. This research identified the main attributes and analyzed the social representations of these students, regarding their social integration and experience in the university housing.
