Projetos de vida/carreira em mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica

Abstract

A violência doméstica tem sido identificada, recentemente, como objeto de análise científica e de medidas de política social. Entre os anos 1960 e 1990 várias formas de violência doméstica foram identificadas, colocando irreversivelmente em causa a imagem da família moderna idealizada (Gelles & Loseke, 1993). Porém, o processo de construção de visibilidade científica e social da violência doméstica tem sido alvo de inúmeras controvérsias relativas aos significados, definições, medidas, causas, consequências e intervenção pública neste domínio. Tratando-se de um domínio de pesquisa novo, considerou-se interessante entender a relação da violência doméstica com as perspetivas de vida/carreira de mulheres maltratadas. Para tal, no presente trabalho, recorreu-se a um método ideográfico para analisar a narrativa de uma mulher vítima de violência doméstica e, a partir daí tentar compreender o impacto da experiência de violência na construção identitária em geral e na construção de carreira em particular; ABSTRACT: Domestic violence has been identified recently as an object of scientific analysis and measures of social policy. Between 1960 and 1990 several forms of domestic violence were identified, irreversibly putting into question the idealized image of the modern family (Gelles & Loseke, 1993). However, the process of building social and scientific visibility of domestic violence has been the subject of numerous controversies concerning meanings, definitions, measures, causes, and consequences of public intervention in this domain. Since this is a new area of research, it was considered interesting to understand the relationship of domestic violence with the prospects of life / career abused women. For this purpose, in the present work, we used a method to analyze the idiographic narrative of a woman victim of domestic violence, and from there try to understand the impact of the experience of violence in identity construction in general and construction in particular career.
