Abstract
This presentation details the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training and Reflection Cycle implemented at the University of Évora, within the "vagar(mente)" program. The initiative aims to equip the academic community for informal support and early intervention to combat growing psychological distress in Higher Education.
Delivered in a hybrid format, the cycle attracted 253 participants. Evaluation confirmed that students reported the lowest initial well-being levels (WHO-5), but all participants rated the training as highly useful (M > 7.50). Qualitative results highlighted the cognitive, practical, and experiential value of the sessions, validating MHFA's role in reducing stigma and building community resilience in an academic setting.
