Representações da depressão e discurso da catarse em António Lobo Antunes

Abstract

Esta tese propõe uma análise do universo depressivo das narrativas de António Lobo Antunes e da ação catártica do seu discurso. Tomando por objeto de estudo um corpus constituído por seis dos seus romances, parte-se da premissa de que estas narrativas representam tanto os aspetos clínicos da depressão como uma conceção do discurso enquanto processo terapêutico. Começamos por vincular a maioria das personagens antunianas ao diagnóstico de personalidade depressiva, argumentando, depois, em favor de duas hipóteses, ambas de âmbito terapêutico: defendemos que o aparelho polifónico de Lobo Antunes está em consonância com os protocolos da psicoterapia grupanalítica e que exige do leitor o compromisso de uma relação analítica; Representations of the depression and discourse of the catharsis in António Lobo Antunes ### Abstract: This thesis proposes an analysis of the universe of depression in the narratives of António Lobo Antunes and of the cathartic action of his speech. Taking as its object of study a corpus consisting of six of his novels, it is assumed that these narratives represent both the aspects of clinical depression and a conception of the speech as a therapeutic process. We begin by linking most characters to the diagnosis of depressive personality, arguing, then, in favor of two hypotheses, both from the therapeutic sphere: we demonstrate that the polyphonic discourse of Lobo Antunes is in line with the protocols of the group analytic psychotherapy and commits the reader with an analytic relationship.
