Construindo o Catálogo Largo Bordo Horizontal: um novo vaso da Idade do Bronze

Abstract

The authors publish a Horizontal Wide Rim vase belonging to the Sousa de Oliveira Foundation (Ponta Delgada, Azores). Although its origins and context are still unknown, its typology seems to point to its origins in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, probably the Portuguese territory. The chronology of the piece has been established at the Bronze Age and its importance has justified its study, which constitutes one more contribution to the catalogue of that ceramics category. Besides the characterisation of the vase in its multiple aspects, the authors carried out a chromatographic analysis and radiocarbon dating. Th ey also discuss some aspects of this type of ceramics and the origin of this particular vase.
