Vivências da gravidez

Abstract

A presente investigação tem como objetivo explorar a vivência da transição para a parentalidade durante a gravidez e as respetivas representações, expectativas e sentimentos que durante esta os pais formulam relativamente ao seu bebé e ao/à seu/sua companheiro/a, bem como a antecipação que fazem do impacto da parentalidade na conjugalidade. Participaram no presente estudo cinco casais (cinco mulheres e cinco homens), cujo tempo de gestação era igual ou superior às 27 semanas. Na recolha de dados foi utilizada a Entrevista sobre a Gestação e as Expetativas da Gestante (GIDEP, 1999) e a Entrevista sobre a Gestação e as Expetativas do Pai (GIDEP, 1998). Os resultados obtidos sugerem que os pais estão a vivenciar a gravidez num turbilhão de emoções, uma vez que ao longo da mesma, foram confrontados com uma série de dúvidas e questões e paralelamente tiveram de assimilar que as suas vidas iriam sofrer alterações a vários níveis com a chegada do bebé. Um novo papel a desempenhar surgirá nas suas vidas, trazendo um estado de felicidade aos pais, mas simultanemanete, e perante a incógnita do seu correto procedimento, um estado de ansiedade e preocupação; Pregnancy Experiences Abstract: The present research aims to explore the experience of the transition to parenthood during pregnancy and the respective representations, expectations and feelings that the parents formulate regarding their baby and his / her partner, as well as the anticipation that make the impact of parenting on conjugality. Five couples (five women and five men), whose gestation time was equal to or greater than 27 weeks, participated in the present study. In this case study, the Interview on Pregnancy and Pregnancy Expectations (GIDEP, 1999) and the Interview on Pregnancy and Expectations of the Father (GIDEP, 1998) were used. The results suggest that the parents are experiencing pregnancy in a variety of emotions, since throughout the same they were faced with a series of doubts and questions and in parallel had to assimilate that their lives would undergo changes at several levels with the arrival of a baby. A new role will emerge in their lives, bringing a state of happiness to their parents, but on the other hand, the uncertainty of their correct procedure also puts them in a state of anxiety and concern.
