Desenvolvimento da Arquitetura do vinho - A adega enquanto fenómeno emergente da arquitetura contemporânea no Alentejo

Abstract

A produção vinícola tem feito parte da cultura das civilizações ocidentais ao longo dos séculos, sendo uma prática conhecida desde a Roma antiga. A produção e armazenamento enquanto função sempre foi definidora de espaço, todavia desde finais do século XX, a tipologia tem sofridos alterações no seu programa e linguagem arquitetónica. Esta dissertação de mestrado tem como objetivo o estudo da estrutura de produção e armazenamento do vinho como fenómeno emergente da arquitetura contemporânea no Alentejo, explorando o contexto em que se insere o desenvolvimento da produção vinícola e do edifício associado a essa prática. Pretende-se perceber o papel do arquiteto na evolução da adega sendo que, para isso são selecionados, como objetos de estudo, edifícios que se distingam pelo seu caracter, tempo, tipologia e construção de modo a obter uma base variada de exemplos, explorando os diversos componentes da arquitetura do vinho; Abstract: Development of wine architecture - Winery as an emerging phenomenon of contemporary architecture in Alentejo Wine production has been part of western civilization throughout the centuries and its pratice has been known since ancient rome. The production and containment as function has always been a definition of space, although since the end of the 20th century this typology has had changes in it’s program and architecture language. The aim of this dissertation is to study the structure of production and containment of wine as a emercive phenomenon of contemporary architecture of Alentejo, exploring the context of development of wine production and the building associated to this practice. It is intended to understand the role of the architect in the evolution of wineries, and for that, there was a selection of cases distinguish by features, time of construction, typology and type of construction. It is pretended to build a diversified base of examples by exploring different components of wine architecture.
