Abstract

Mercado de trabalho industrial em Évora: a contratação de mão-de-obra estrangeira. Portugal vive, assim como tantos outros países enraizados numa realidade denominada de “mundo globalizado”. A abertura das fronteiras, a partilha dos mercados a liberalização de políticas comuns, desenvolveu a oportunidade para a formação de fluxos migratórios como consequência deste cenário de transformações. Portugal, tradicionalmente considerado como um país de emigrantes até meados da década de 70 do séc. XX, assiste agora a uma nova dinâmica no que concerne aos fluxos migratórios. Os imigrantes têm vindo a assumir um papel fundamental na economia e desenvolvimento do país, na medida em que representam mão-de-obra “barata” e produtiva. Desta feita, estes grupos enfrentam por vezes um cenário de exclusão social e de integração difícil nas sociedades de acolhimento. Cada vez mais, este fator tem sido alvo de preocupações e de implementação de medidas para controlo deste aumento migratório registado no nosso país. O presente estudo procura identificar a existência de uma potencial relação entre o aumento do fluxo migratório e a contratação de mão-de-obra imigrante no sector industrial. Neste sentido, o desenvolvimento da investigação, consagra uma primeira parte exploratória de conceitos e teorias relativas a emigração e imigração. E uma segunda, parte debruçada na análise de dados estatísticos específicos existentes e os dados recolhidos sobre o tema que aqui se impõe; - Abstract: Industrial labour market in Évora: the hiring of foreign labour. Portugal lives, like many other countries, rooted in a reality called “globalized world”. The opening of borders, the sharing of markets and the liberalization of common policies, created the opportunity for the formation of migratory flows as a consequence of this changing scenario. Portugal traditionally considered a country of emigrants until the mid- 1970, XX, we are now witnessing a new dynamic regarding migratory flows. Immigrants have assumed a fundamental role in the country's economy and development, as they represent “cheap” and productive labor. As of today, these groups sometimes face a scenario of social exclusion and difficult integration into host societies. Increasingly, this factor has been the subject of concern and the implementation of measures to control this increase in migration registered in our country. The present study seeks to identify the existence of a potential relationship between the increase in migratory flow and the hiring of immigration labour in the industrial sector. In this sense, the development of the research devotes a first exploratory part of concepts and theories related to emigration and immigration. And a second part focuses on the analysis of existing specific statistical data and the data collected on the subject that is necessary here.
