A poética de Manuel António Pina: "Já não é possível dizer mais nada/mas também não é possível ficar calado"

Abstract

O destacado escritor e jornalista português Manuel António Pina (1943-2012) produziu uma vasta e diversificada obra literária em termos de gêneros e de público (adulto e infanto-juvenil). Trata-se de um escritor de grande relevância no cenário da literatura de língua portuguesa contemporânea. Seu trabalho se reveste da ideia de que o escritor de seu tempo se vê frente a – ou em – um abismo/intervalo entre o silêncio por tudo já haver sido dito e a necessidade do poeta de não se calar, impasse criativo reportável também ao designado pós-modernismo. Sua obra assume, assim, como ressalta Inês Fonseca Santos, “um pendor eminentemente reflexivo e auto-reflexivo”. Este trabalho dissertativo pretende, por conseguinte, investigar a poesia de Manuel António Pina no confronto bifronte dos contextos modernista/pós-modernista. Ademais, relacionar-se-á seu pensamento criativo com as ideias de memória e polifonia para entender como este escritor pensava a escrita e a formação do poeta simultaneamente, conjugando os dilemas metapoéticos do escritor e o questionamento do sentido do “eu” poético na criação contemporânea. Por fim, a obra de Pina será posta em relação com outros autores de nacionalidade diferente buscando, assim, ecos de sua(s) voz(es) na literatura contemporânea. ABSTRACT: Manuel António Pina’s poetics – “Já não é possível dizer mais nada/ mas também não é possível ficar calado” The outstanding Portuguese writer and journalist Manuel António Pina (1943-2012) has produced a vast and diverse literary work in terms of genres and public (for both adult and young ages). He is considered a writer of great relevance in the contemporary Portuguese language literature. His work is filled with the idea that the writer of his time is faced with – or is within – an abyss / interval between silence for all that has already been said and the poet's need not to remain quiet, a creative impasse that can be reported to the so-called “postmodernism”. Thus, his work assumes, as pointed out by Inês Fonseca Santos, “an eminently reflexive and self-reflective inclination”1. This dissertative work intends therefore to investigate Manuel António Pina’s poetics in the bifront confrontation of the modernist / postmodernist contexts. Moreover, his creative thinking will be related to the ideas of memory and polyphony to understand how this writer reflected about the writing and the formation of the poet simultaneously, combining the writer's metapoetic dilemmas and the questioning of the meaning of the poetic self. Finally, Pina's oeuvre will be related to other writers of different nationalities, thus seeking echoes of his voice(s) in contemporary literature.
