Atividades de educação formal e não formal num município alentejano: contributos de/para uma socióloga

Abstract

Nos dias atuais, a globalização leva as pessoas deslocarem-se dos seus locais habituais de residência para outros lugares, seja dentro do mesmo país ou para o exterior. As razões para esses deslocamentos são variadas, incluindo guerras, perseguições étnicas, políticas ou religiosas, ou a busca por melhores oportunidades de trabalho e condições de vida mais favoráveis. Não raras vezes, são famílias inteiras que se deslocam, imigrando, levando consigo a necessidade de garantir a escolarização de crianças e jovens. Com o foco nas (i)migrações e na integração e inclusão escolares de crianças e alunos, foi realizado um estágio curricular na Câmara Municipal de Estremoz, no âmbito do Mestrado em Sociologia frequentado na Universidade de Évora O presente relatório tem como objetivo demonstrar as atividades realizadas, entre elas o estudo desenvolvido durante o período do estágio sobre a temática acima referida. Entre as atividades realizadas, destacam-se tarefas administrativas, apoio a professores e explicações num centro de estudos. O estudo, por sua vez, foca-se na integração e inclusão de alunos imigrantes numa das escolas deste município. Após a descrição das atividades e a apresentação dos resultados obtidos no estudo, é feita uma reflexão crítica sobre essas experiências. Dessa forma, busca-se compreender a importância de um sociólogo no contexto municipal; - Abstract: Formal and Non-Formal Education Activities in an Alentejo Municipality: contributions from/for a sociologist. Nowadays, globalisation leads people to move from their usual places of residence to other places, either within the same country or abroad. The reasons for these displacements are varied, including wars, ethnic, political or religious persecution, or the search for better job opportunities and more favourable living conditions. It is not uncommon for entire families to move and immigrate, bringing with them the need to guarantee the schooling of children and young people. With a focus on (i)migration and the integration and inclusion of children and pupils in schools, a curricular internship was carried out at Estremoz Town Hall as part of the Master's programme in Sociology at the University of Évora The aim of this report is to demonstrate the activities carried out, including the study carried out during the internship on the above-mentioned subject. Among the activities carried out were administrative tasks, support for teachers and tutoring at a study centre. The study, in turn, focuses on the integration and inclusion of immigrant pupils in one of the municipality's schools. After describing the activities and presenting the results obtained in the study, a critical reflection is made on these experiences. The aim is to understand the importance of a sociologist in the municipal context.
