In order to examine this issue, firstly terminology is defined, in particular the term ‘language’ and the notion of musical language. This leads to identifying two fundamental concepts – tonality and atonality. These concepts will then be defined as two notions which make possible the classification of a number of musical idioms out of their own features. This will be the starting point for studying the coexistence of distinct musical idioms in a composition, through analysis of concrete examples of the repertoire. | por |
