dc.description.abstractIn this paper, a genetic algorithm is optimized to estimate the parameters of a sampled sinewave. In one approach, the genetic algorithm is used to estimate the frequency of the signal while the remaining parameters are obtained by the three-parameter sine-fitting procedure. In a second approach, all parameters of the sinewave are estimated using the genetic algorithm. The robustness of this new method is analyzed.en
