Estilos educativos parentais, habilitações literárias e situação profissional de pais na excelência académica de alunos do Ensino Secundário

Abstract

O presente estudo pretende explorar a relação existente entre os estilos educativos parentais, as habilitações literárias e a situação profissional dos pais de alunos que apresentam um rendimento escolar excepcional. Os participantes dividem-se pelos 3 anos do Ensino Secundário (N =44) tendo sido seleccionados pelas suas médias aritméticas iguais ou superiores a 16 valores. O Questionário de Estilos Educativos Parentais (Ducharne, Cruz, Marinho e Grande, 2006) foi o instrumento utilizado para recolher a sua percepção e a dos seus pais acerca dos estilos educativos parentais. Os resultados demonstraram haver relações entre as percepções dos alunos e dos pais; mas também um efeito das habilitações literárias do pai sob os estilos educativos parentais. Na situação profissional não se verificou existência de efeitos nenhuns; ### Abstract: The present study aims to explore the relation between the parenting styles, academic qualifications, and professional situation of parents of exceptional students. The participants were selected from the 3 years of high school (N=44). The criteria of selection was his results equal to or above the average of the class (>16 values) in two subjects. The Questionário dos Estilos Educativos Parentais (Ducharne, Cruz, Marinho and Grande, 2006) was the instrument chosen to measure their perception and those of their parents about the parenting styles. The results of this study have demonstrate that exist relations of influence between the perceptions of the students and the perceptions of the parents; and also have reveal a significant effect of the academic qualifications of the father on the parenting styles. About the professional situation no effects have been noted.
