Modelling Desert Dust Transport And Comparison Between Model Lidar Simulator And Lidar Observations

Abstract

This study explores the interaction between complex terrain and atmospheric circulation in order to better understand an exceptional desert dust outbreak affecting the Iberian Peninsula in February 2017, as well as the ability of the model to represent the total attenuated backscatter coefficient (a basic product derived from aerosol lidars systems worldwide).
